M-26

Developed during WWII, the M-26 Pershing mounted a 90mm gun and had much better protection than the M-4 Sherman.  Bungling and bureaucracy delayed development of these good tanks so they were only available beginning in 1945, too late to significantly affect the course of the war.  In the Korean War the M-26 was used to support the infantry.
